Hi, I'm McKayla! I'm an elopement and small wedding photographer based in southern California. Nothing makes me happier than running around with my camera and my amazing couples. Read on to get to know me a little better!
I was born and raised in southern California just a few miles from the beach. I love the variety of landscapes here and being so close to the beach, mountains, and desert- a few of my favorite spots are Yosemite, Joshua Tree, the eastern Sierra mountains, and Big Sur!
I started my photography journey in a high school photography class where I got to develop and print my own film. I still love shooting film- it has a different feel that digital photographs just can't match. I offer film photography as an add-on to my packages!
I'm a pretty sarcastic person and I try not to take things too seriously, except when it counts! I think this helps me in my work because it helps take some pressure off of my couples- who wants to be photographed by someone without a sense of humor?
When I'm not working, I love baking, taking my dogs on local hikes, road trips, true crime podcasts, brewery trivia, and rollerskating with my chihuahua at the beach. I have a degree in film and I love watching movies and TV (and I watch way more than I should!)
