It depends on the hours of coverage- for an adventure session, you'll receive at least 100 images, for a half day elopement, you will receive at least 200 edited images. Full day elopements are a minimum of 300 edited images. I tend to be shutter-happy, so you might end up with much more than this. If I've met the minimum amount of photos but there are more that I feel like you have to see, I'll always include them. I have no interest in holding your photos hostage!
Absolutely! A lot of my couples need a little guidance and inspiration when it comes to locations, so I'm happy to help in that department. I can offer guidance on lighting, crowds, terrain, and the details that might not always occur to my clients. I've always loved using Google maps and hiking trail websites to look for places I want to visit, so I have a long list of location options on hand. Honestly, you should see the pins on my Google maps! On top of the places I have saved, I also will scout new spots to make sure we get the right location for your elopement or adventure session!
There are so many choices, from the well-known spots to the ones off the beaten path. We can discuss your ideas and I'll send you a questionnaire to narrow down what exactly you're looking for.
Yes, yes, yes! I cover my own travel costs for U.S. events, but if it's international I'll have my couple cover my basic travel expenses- things like flight, rental car, and lodging. In that case, I book my own travel and invoice my couple accordingly- always looking for the best deals of course!
On the day of the shoot or elopement, we'll meet up and we'll chat. Once we're ready to go, we'll hike a little, listen to music, and make some photo magic!
I understand how awkward it can feel when you first step in front of the camera. I want you to feel comfortable and truly yourself when you shoot with me. I start a little farther back to get you comfortable before I come in for closer shots. I don't believe in 'posing' in the traditional sense- I like to keep my couples moving and engaging with each other rather than forcing them into static poses that don't feel authentic. Of course, I'll offer prompts and guidance so you're not standing around feeling awkward!
Absolutely. The outdoors are for everyone, regardless of your skill levels (but you should always be prepared!). You don't have to hike eight miles or summit a fourteener to have an adventurous elopement. Honestly, there are so many incredible viewpoints that are accessible with a short hike from the road. Don't feel pressured to push yourself on your elopement day- focus on what you want to do, not what you've seen on Instagram. The worst thing would be for you to push yourself into a difficult hike that you're not ready for and end up miserable.
I'll always take your experience into account while we're planning (I'll admit I'm not the strongest hiker around!). I can guide you to find the best location for your needs and offer recommendations for hiking gear to make sure you feel comfortable and prepared.
No. I believe that my work isn't complete until the images are edited. Editing is a big part of my style and when you hire me, you are agreeing to my artistic style. I highly encourage you to go through some of my galleries before booking so you can get a better idea of my style and decide if it's for you! I like to stay pretty true to color and avoid trendy editing styles. After all, you're going to have these photos for decades and you don't want them to look dated.
That being said, I'm happy to go over any issues you might have with your photos and see if I can tweak them- I've never encountered this problem, but I want to make sure you're happy with your photos!
My rule of thumb is this- I only remove things that aren't permanent. Bruises, scrapes, or blemishes are things that I can remove, but I believe in body positivity and accepting ourselves- flaws and all! I will remove random people or objects from the background if they're distracting, but I don't alter you.
If you have any concerns or anything you're self-conscious about (don't we all?), please let me know so I can be aware during the shoot and pose you accordingly. I can also offer advice on what to wear prior to the shoot so you can be your most confident self!
I've been obsessed with the Milky Way and astrophotography for years and I'm so glad to be offering it to my clients. There are some logistical things to know before planning an astro shoot: you'll need a location with low light pollution, a new moon, and lots of patience!
When you inquire, we'll talk about your vision for your elopement and from there I'll determine whether your plans can fit astro photos. If your location and timeline allow it, we can fit astro into your package with no additional cost. If not, it would have to be booked as a separate session because of the extra driving and editing time required.
I absolutely love shooting astrophotography and creating a unique piece of art that my clients will want to hang on their walls for years.
